Andrey Rublev v Adrian Mannarino Head to Head
The pair have never met before – this will be the first encounter on court between the 21-year old Russian and the Frenchman, ten years his senior.
Rublev Has a Chance of Second ATP title
Despite earning a reputation as an up and coming star, Rublev has only ever won one senior singles title – the Umag Open in 2017. Since then, he has become known for some of his high profile wins over big name players – he beat Dominic Thiem in Hamburg and Roger Federer in Cincinnati – without managing to string a series of results together in any event.
There are signs that this may be about to change. He did reach the final in Hamburg before going down to the Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili, and now he has a second chance, this time in front of his home fans in Moscow.
He began his week’s work with a tough three set win over compatriot Alexander Bublik. Then he had an equally difficult match over Egor Gerasimov of Belarus, one of the most improved players on tour of recent months. He came through that, again in three sets, before enjoying a more comfortable victory over the Serb Nikola Milojevic in their quarter final on Friday.
Saturday’s semi-final brought his most impressive victory of the week, a straight sets defeat of the number three seed and world number 25, Borna Cilic, again in straight sets.

Mannarino, Enjoying His Greatest Success at the Age of 31
Despite turning pro back in 2004, Mannarino has had to wait until this year before enjoying his greatest success on the ATP tour. In June he won his first senior singles title on the grass of s-Hertogenbosch, and then reached his second final of the year last month in Zhuhai, where he was beaten in the end by the young Australian Alex de Minaur.
Now he finds himself in his third final in four months, and with a chance of winning his second title.
Unlike his opponent, he has progressed relatively serenely to the final, and he is yet to drop a set in Russia this week. He began his campaign with a comfortable win over the Bosnian Damir Dzumhur, and then beat Mikhail Kukushkin in the third round, although the Kazakh did force him into a first set tie break.
Dusan Lajovic similarly extended him in their quarter-final, before his resistance crumbled in the second set, but then he brushed past the Italian Andreas Seppi in their semi-final on Saturday, a break of serve in each set enough for him to book his place in the final.
Rublev v Mannarino Predictions & Tips
Rublev is the favourite to win this match at 6/7, whilst Mannarino is priced at 2/1. The Frenchman has breezed through this tournament, whilst Rublev had his struggles in the earlier rounds. Despite that, with the backing of the home crowd, Rublev should finally be able to add another title to his list of achievements.
Tip: Rublev to win in three sets: 3/1 11/10 at 888Sport
