Daniil Medvedev v Jeremy Chardy Head to Head

This will be the third time that Daniil Medvedev and Jeremy Chardy will be facing off at this level and the head to head is currently reading 1-1. The first time they played on grass, Chardy won that match last year at Queen’s Club but Medvedev got the better of his opponent at Rotterdam earlier this year on indoor courts.

Medvedev Aiming for a Home Run

Since Wimbledon, Medvedev’s record makes for a fabulous reading.

Six tournaments played, six finals reached, three titles won. That has nearly doubled his career titles win in a span of a couple of months, after he had also won one at Sofia earlier in the year. Medvedev’s eyes will now be on the big prize at O2 where he features in his very first ATP Finals, but before that there is a small matter of warming up with a deeper run here.

With Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal in action as well, Medvedev will be aiming for a few scalps here as well as he looks to challenge the Big Three bastion but first things first, he will need to get past an opponent who had beaten him as recently as the previous year.

Chardy Hoping for a Big Scalp

It’s safe to say that Jeremy Chardy’s best is probably behind him, one that had seen him rise to 25th in the world. Since then there have been a few seasons in which he has lost more than he has won but over the last three years, including this one, he has managed to reverse that.

A 33-27 win-loss record here consists of seven wins out of 11 matches on indoor courts, and he has got to the main draw here with a couple of victories in the qualifiers. In the first round, Chardy needed three sets to edge out Sam Querrey 5-7, 6-3, 7-5 in a humdinger of a match but it’s tough to see how he will get going here against a player in rip-roaring form.

Daniil Medvedev v Jeremy Chardy Predictions & Tips

It comes as no surprise Medvedev is 2/13 to win this as compared to Chardy’s 25/4 but the better value comes from the fact the Frenchman has had a decent time on these courts. Look at the games market, or the handicaps one as mentioned below.
