Ugo Humbert v Mikael Ymer Head to Head
The pair have never faced each other on tour before.
Humbert Having a Solid Year to Follow-up a Remarkable 2018
The 21-year-old has had an impressive year having won three challenger level titles and reaching two ATP semi-finals. He also achieved his best Grand slam year this season when he reached the fourth round at the Wimbledon. His best performances have come to post the US Open. He won Istanbul and Brest Challengers as well as reached the semi-finals at Antwerp in the last two months.
Humbert has had a strong record on the indoor courts this year. He has played 28 matches indoors this season, winning 20 of them. He did suffer a disappointing first-round exit from the Paris Masters as he was knocked out by Grigor Dimitrov. The Frenchman did show some signs of fatigue in that match, and the effects of having played six matches in a week were visible.
A break of a few days will do him good, and he will be looking to start his campaign with a victory.

Ymer Enjoying a Fantastic Breakout Year
“When it gets tougher, I have that in the back of my head that people have sacrificed a lot. So I’m not only playing for me.”, these were the words of Ymer ahead of his maiden appearance at the Next Gen Finals. The 20-year-old Swede born to Ethiopian parents has had a remarkable breakout season in 2019.
He has won four challenger level titles and reached another final. Ymer has jumped more than 180 spots in the rankings and is currently world number 73.
The Swede qualified for his first-ever Grand Slam main draw at the French Open earlier this year and reached the second round before falling to Alexander Zverev. His biggest scalp this season was Jo-Wilfred Tsonga, the former world number five who the young Swede beat at the Orleans Challenger.
Ymer comes into the tournament having only played one match in the last fortnight. He crashed out in the first qualifying round at the Paris Masters.
Ugo Humbert v Mikael Ymer Predictions & Tips
