This will be the second meeting between the two on tour. The Italian won their only clash on the indoor hardcourts of Antwerp a couple of weeks ago.

Tiafoe will be playing at the Next Gen Finals for the second year in a row. 2019 has been an inconsistent year for the 21-year-old. He started the year in impressive fashion by reaching the last eight at the Australian Open. He has won two challenger level titles, reached the main draw of his maiden grand slam, and then reaching the last four of an ATP Tour event at Antwerp a couple of weeks ago.
