Davis Cup tickets sales are struggling to catch up even less than two weeks before its start according to news agencies.
News reports are suggesting the Davis Cup organisers haven’t had it easy with the sale of their tickets for the 2019 edition of the revamped competition that will begin from November 18.
18 teams will be in action in this Davis Cup that will last seven days till November 24, with the group-cum-knockout competition to be played in a different format from its regular one. From this season, the Davis Cup finals will be played over a week, with each team playing two ties in the group stage, all of which would be best-of-three-matches.

The tournament will be played at the Caja Mágica in Madrid, Spain, and while the sales of tickets for the knockout rounds has picked up, it’s the tickets sale for the morning sessions of the round-robin matches that are proving to be tough.
And this is despite the presence of the likes of Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic in the tournament, along with four other top 10 players, and 14 other stars in the top 30 of the ATP rankings. Andy Murray will also be featuring in the competition, representing Great Britain in this newly-formatted Davis Cup.
Tickets for Spain’s matches are all but sold out but other than that only Great Britain’s matches are found to have any takers. The rest of the encounters have been a struggle to find buyers.
The group stage Centre Court tickets for 2019 Davis Cup start at €25 for Category 3 tickets going up to €60 for Category 1 and €350 for the Premium tickets. Stadium 2 and Stadium 3 tickets for the group stage costs €45. The lowest-costing Davis Cup quarterfinal, semifinal and final tickets are priced at €40, €50 and €60 respectively.
