Undoubtedly one of the greatest tennis players in history, Roger Federer shares his goals ahead of the 2020 season.
The world no.3 player opened up about his plans for the next season as he stated that his primary is goal is to claim at least one of the most important titles of the sport: the four majors, the ATP Finals and an Olympic gold.
The Olympic singles gold remains an unclaimed victory for Federer. However, he has won the doubles gold in 2008 with his partner Stan Wawrinka. The 2020 games will see the tennis legend hope to add one more massive achievement to an already marvellous list.
This year, although Federer did not win a major title, he reached his 100th title mark in February in Dubai where he defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets. This victory came after he lost to the world no.6 at the Australian Open in the round of 16.

He also won the ATP 500 title in Halle and Basel. These were his 10th titles in both Halle and Basel. For the first time, Federer won at any tournament ten times at Halle and became the only other person, the other being Rafael Nadal, to achieve this in the current era.
Subsequently, much to the delight of his home crowd, ‘Basel’s favourite ball boy’ won his tenth title in Basel.

Looking ahead at the 2020 season which is set to begin with the Australian Open, Federer decided to skip the ATP Cup to prepare for the event. On his chances of winning, Federer said:
“I need to train really hard and that will obviously be a goal of mine, trying to win one of the five big ones, plus the Olympics – six. I would love to take one of those six chances.”
He said the final goal was to win as many titles as possible.
