World no.1 Rafael Nadal has spoken about the possibility about featuring at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The reigning Roland Garros and US Open, champion, who often took the backstage while talking about retirement due to his constant tussle with injuries, spoke about how it would be an absolute “dream” to represent Spain at Roland Garros at the Paris Olympics in 2024. ‘The King of Clay’ has earned his nickname, winning an astonishing 13 times at Roland Garros.
The first male tennis player to win the French and the US Open in the same year, not once but four times, had an outstanding season in 2019. With 19 Grand Slam titles, one behind Roger Federer, he achieved the world no.1 ranking this year after the Paris Masters for the fifth time in his career.

Nadal won two Grand Slams this year, at the French Open and the US Open and reached the finals at Melbourne Park. Nadal also won two Masters titles at Rome and Canada this year becoming the only player to win at least one ATP title for 16 consecutive years.

“It is difficult to say now because it is a long way away. Logic would tell me I will not be there. But you also have to distrust logic.”
Nadal spoke about how logic would have commanded no real possibility of him being at the top of the rankings in 2019, so many years after having first played tennis.
The 33-year-old has defied logic having had such a wonderful career running into its 19th year and carries on with the hope that in five years’ time, he will be ready to claim another Olympic gold for his nation.
