Karen Khachanov v Viktor Durasovic Predictions & Preview

This is Karen Khachanov’s first match against Viktor Durasovic in their career and it should not be much of a test for the Russian. Durasovic had come into this tournament ranked 332nd in the world and has won a sum total of six games across the two matches he has played.

First Taylor Fritz defeated him 6-2, 6-2 before Stefano Travaglia overcame his advances easily with a 6-1, 6-1 win. And now Khachanov, who has himself defeated those very two opponents, Travaglia and Durasovic, in this tournament, will be up against the Norwegian in this encounter.

Khachanov had earlier warmed up for the season opening with his appearance at the Mubadala Tennis Championships and while he won his opener against Hyeon Chung, the Russian lost the next two to Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. This one should be a straight-set win though.

Tip: Khachanov to win in straight sets: 1/3 (Click here to get these odds with Unibet)

Stefano Travaglia v Taylor Fritz Predictions & Preview

This will be the first match between USA’s Taylor Fritz and Stefano Travaglia of Italy as a part of a tie that seems more important for one team than the other. Yep, if Italy needs to qualify for the next round they will need to defeat USA and hope for few other results to go their way while USA not just have to win this 3-0, they would also need to look at the results from the other groups to help them out.

Travaglia, an 84th-ranked player in the world, did defeat Durasovic earlier in the competition but did not stand much of a chance against Karen Khachanov in is opener. He did put up a fight but went down 5-7, 3-6 in the end. The Italian played a lot of his tennis at the lower, Challenger level last year, made it to three finals and won two of them.

On the other hand, Fritz is now 32nd in the world, and is coming off his maiden ATP title win in 2019. That came on the grass of Eastbourne, and following that made the final at Los Cabos. Fritz’s form tapered off towards the end of the season but his display against Khachanov, albeit in a losing cause should fill him up hope.

Tip: Fritz to win in straight sets: 3/1 (Click here to get these odds with Unibet)

Steve Darcis v Dimitar Kuzmanov Predictions & Preview

The 157th-ranked Steve Darcis will hold an edge over the 423rd-ranked Dimitar Kuzmanov when Belgium plays Bulgaria in their ATP Cup 2020 tie. And this would be despite Kuzmanov having beaten Darcis in their only previous encounter. That had come at the Challenger level but on clay.

Here on hard court, and with the kind of form that the former world number 38 Darcis has shown, it will get really tough for his Bulgarian opponent. Darcis began with a three-set win against Alexander Cozbinov before routing Cameron Norrie in straight sets in his second match. And now playing against an opponent ranked that far behind shouldn’t cause him too many sleepless nights either.

Tip: Darcis to win in straight sets: 8/11 (Click here to get these odds with Unibet)

Cameron Norrie v Alexander Cozbinov Predictions & Preview

As far as rankings go, matches involving Alexander Cozbinov are some of the most, at least potentially, one-sided encounters. However, Cozbinov put up the kind of fight you would want from someone ranked 818th in the world and wanting to break into the top; taking a set off Belgium’s Steve Darcis.

He did lose in straight sets to Dimitar Kuzmanov but even there, the signs were good.

And now that he is facing a struggling Cameron Norrie, we could be looking at a difficult encounter for the Brit despite the obvious ranking disparity. Norrie was taken apart by Steve Darcis after dropping a set to Kuzmanov in a previous match. And now expect Cozbinov to take a set off him as well.

Tip: Three sets in the match: 7/2 (Click here to get these odds with Unibet)
