This will be the first match between Goffin and Bublik at this level.
Goffin Looking to Shrug Off Early Melbourne Loss
It looked like it was headed to be a decent start to the 2020 season for Goffin. Playing for Belgium at the ATP Cup earlier in the season, he won three of the four matches he participated in but the bigger part of the story was he actually managed to carve out a straight-set win over the world number Rafael Nadal.
There was another victory against Grigor Dimitrov as well, and with that kind of a beginning one would have tipped him to push on to the latter stages at the Australian Open too.
Unfortunately for him, Goffin came up against a sterling and in-form Andrey Rublev in the third round. And while Goffin was able to take a set off him to begin with, Rublev came back to win two of the next three in tie-breakers to clinch the match.
Goffin will now look to push on in Montpellier in his preparation for the Sunshine Masters next month where he had made it to the semifinal way back in 2016.

Bublik Limped to an Opening Win
54th-ranked Alexander Bublik is hovering around his career-best ranking but the start to his season has been anything but career-best.
At Doha, he put one across Adrian Mannarino only to lose to Aljaz Bedene in straight sets in the second round. Then he featured at the Adelaide International where he again managed a scrappy win over Taylor Fritz before going down to Daniel Evans in the second.
And then at the Australian Open, Bublik was thrashed in straight sets by Jordan Thompson in his very first match.
Now, coming into the Montpellier Open, he was a heavy favourite against his opening opponent Henri Laaksonen, ranked more than 60 places below him, but needed three sets and a final set tie-breaker to make it through.
David Goffin v Alexander Bublik Predictions & Tips
This will be a bridge too far for Bublik given his recent form and Goffin should have no difficulties getting past Bublik. Expect a straight-set victory for Goffin.
