Roberto Bautista Agut v Márton Fucsovics Head to Head

This will be the first-ever match between the two. They were set to face each other in the quarter-finals at Sofia last year but Agut had to withdraw due to an illness.

Agut Looking to Continue an Impressive Start to the Season

The Spaniard is coming off a very impressive 2019 where he won a title at Doha and broke into the top 10 rankings for the first time in his career. His start to the new year has been equally impressive. After winning all six matches at the ATP cup, he reached the third round at the Australian Open.

He did lose in five sets to Marin Cilic but has shown some very impressive form so far this year. He reached his first-ever quarter-final and semi-finals at the Grand Slam stage last year. This year he will be hoping to replicate that once again.

He recorded the best numbers on the tour when it comes to second service points won as well as second service return points won for January 2020. The 31-year-old Spaniard is the only player on the tour to go above 60% on any of the above metrics. His 8-1 win-loss record this season is a testament to his consistency.

This is the first time he is playing at the event in four years. He last played in Rotterdam in 2016 when he reached the last eight.

Qualifier Fucsovics Looking to Break Back into the Top 50

After reaching a career-high of 31 in the rankings last year, the Hungarian’s form tailed off at the end of last season. After reaching the last eight in Munich, he only managed one more quarter-final appearance last season. During that year he crashed out of the opening match in a tournament on twelve occasions.

But a quarter-final run at Doha followed by a round of 16 appearances at the Australian Open sees the 28-year-old again on the verge of entering the top 50. His most notable results have come on the clay courts where he has beaten likes of Stan Wawrinka and David Goffin. his game on the hard courts has improved steadily in the last couple of years.

He got past Alexie Popyrin of Australian in the qualifying round. This is his second appearance at the event, last year he reached the quarter-finals.

Roberto Bautista Agut v Márton Fucsovics Predictions & Tips

Agut starts the match as a strong favourite. His form this season has been very impressive. After a couple of weeks off from the tour, he will be re-energised. Fucsovics, on the other hand, has been playing some decent tennis but does not have the game to trouble Agut faster indoor courts.

Tip: Agut to win in straight sets: 11/10 (Click here to get these odds with Unibet)
