Kvitova With Another Solid Start But That Still Eludes
Kvitova has had a modest 2020 campaign so far. The eighth seed is still trying to find her range. Kvitova reached the semi-finals in Brisbane and the quarter-finals of the Australian Open. The Czech also participated in the St. Petersburg Open but was forced to retire at the quarter-final stage.
The 29-year-old has had good matches in Doha and her recent wins over Jelena Ostapenko and Ons Jabeur will massively boost her confidence.
The Czech, currently ranked 11, will be hoping to break into the top 10 of the WTA rankings. But it will be no easy task as she will have to win the Qatar Open a second time.
Kvitova is one of the biggest hitters in the sport and is renowned on the court for her sublime shot making. She will certainly be the aggressor in this game and look to have the upper hand in rallies.

Barty Also Eyeing First Title of the Year
The Qatar Total Open is Barty’s first tournament since the Australian Open. The 23-year-old was in fine form at the Australian Open and looked like she might win the title on home soil. However, she lost to eventual winner Sofia Kenin in the semi-final.
This year’s Qatar Open is Barty’s first and she will be hoping to win her first title of the campaign in her debut tournament. Barty hasn’t had a lot of match practice and even had a walkover in the round of 16 when her match against Elena Rybakina was retired.
But her tough match against Muruguza in the quarter-finals should give her some much needed momentum. The fact that Barty is playing a familiar rival will help her cause despite not having played a lot this season.
Petra Kvitova v Ash Barty Predictions & Tips
Barty should defeat Kvitova in straight sets. Kvitova is well known for her sublime shot making but Barty possesses the craft needed to break her power game. This is evident in the fact that Barty has won their last three meetings.
The real question here is if Barty will need a third set to see Kvitova off.
