Fabio Fognini v Duckhee Lee Head to Head

This will be the first time Fognini and Lee will be facing off in a competitive match.

Fognini on a Three-Match Losing Streak

With a win-loss record of 4-6 this season so far, it cannot be termed as a solid start to the year for Fognini. That said, he would be pleased with his showing at the Australian Open earlier this year where he made the fourth round and should have even pushed on further but for a surprise defeat at the hands of Tennys Sandgren.

That loss triggered two more defeats in a row though. First he fell to Karen Khachanov in the opening round at Rotterdam before losing his opener at the Dubai Tennis Championship to Daniel Evans. Now, Fognini has a chance to regroup himself before the start of the Masters competitions leading up to the French Open with this relatively easier tie against Korea.

A couple of wins here should help him get back into some sort of a frame of mind as the Italian prepares to defend his title at the Monte-Carlo Masters.

Struggle for Duckhee Lee This Year

At his best, Lee was ranked 130th in the world but a string of underwhelming performances has left him down to 251st in the world. And this year hasn’t been too kind for Lee either, who has played in three Challengers and the Australian Open qualifiers but won just three matches.

Having not played any tournaments before the Australian Open, Lee lost in the second round of the qualifying there, and then failed to win a match at the Bangkok Challenger either. A first round victory at the Burnie Challenger followed but that was followed by another defeat.

And there was another similar showing in Launceston where Lee won his opener but lost the second round. It follows a season where he was 33-27 on win-loss.

Fabio Fognini v Duckhee Lee Predictions & Tips

This can be expected to be a one-sided match in favour of Fognini. Played on clay, which is Lee’s least favourite surface (18-19 career win-loss in the second rung of tennis tournaments), things aren’t going to get any better for the Korean here. A straight-set win for Fognini.

Tip: Fognini to win in straight sets: 1/6 (Click here to get these odds with Unibet)
