The draw for the 2020 edition of the Davis Cup which will be played in Madrid, Spain has been released.
18 teams have been divided into six group of three apiece, and they will be involved in a round-robin group stage of matches. The top team from every group and two other best, second-placed teams will qualify for the quarterfinals, which will be followed by the last-four round and the final.
Defending champion Spain will lead Group A which also has Russia and Ecuador. The Spain-Russia clash could be one of the most mouth-watering ties of the competition.
In Group B, Canada will have Kazakhstan and Sweden for company, while Group C sees arch-rivals France and Great Britain joined by Czech Republic.
Croatia will form a part of the Group D which also has Australia and Hungary, while USA, Italy and Colombia make it to Group E. Serbia will be in Group F and will compete with Germany and Austria for a place in the last-eight.

This draw was announced hours after the ATP suspended all men’s tennis for a period of six weeks which includes the cancellation of the Indian Wells and Miami Masters along with a few other tournaments.
