Australian tennis player Bernard Tomic has said he has shown all the coronavirus symptoms and kept himself in quarantine as a result.
Following Yaroslava Shvedova’s forced quarantine after she travelled in the same flight as a person who had coronavirus, Tomic becomes the second tennis player known to have be involved in such a situation. Tomic revealed he got ill on arriving in Miami from Monterrey where he was playing in an ATP tournament.
The Monterrey Open was the last ATP tournament to be played before the tour got suspended because of the coronavirus outbreak.

Speaking to the Melbourne Herald Sun, Tomic said:
“Since Tuesday, started feeling not right. I’m yet to be tested for it but I have all the symptoms. I reckon I got it traveling from Mexico to Monterrey. I’m currently in Miami and isolated away from everyone, as advised.”
Tomic is currently ranked 200th in the world and last won a main draw match in an ATP tournament in Atlanta in 2019. This year, he failed to qualify for his home Australian Open and New York Open and then lost in the first round at Delray Beach.
At Monterrey, where he is supposed to have contracted the illness, he had a first round bye and won his second round match before losing in the third.
All ATP tournaments till the week of April 20 and all WTA tournaments till the week of May 2 have now been cancelled as more clarity is awaited on how things proceed with the outbreak of the virus.
