Novak Djokovic is one of those involved in the organization of the Adria Tour tennis tournament which will be played across different venues and have Dominic Thiem and Alexander Zverev participating in it. However, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal weren’t sent an invite and Djokovic reveals why.
According to Djokovic, there was no friction between the three of them and lack of communication wasn’t the reason behind their non-invite. In fact, he claimed he had been in touch with Federer and Nadal more than otherwise because of the break from tennis.
Djokovic revealed the reason they weren’t playing the Adria Tour was because Federer wasn’t fully healed from his knee issues while Nadal had only recently returned to practice.

The Serb said to Sport Klub:
“Me, Federer and Nadal have been communicating more than we usually do due to the coronavirus pandemic changes and the situation regarding the help to the lower-ranked players.”
“Federer is still having issues with his knee so I didn’t ask him. Rafa has just returned to the court. Last week we talked about the US Open but I didn’t ask him (to play the Adria Tour). I don’t believe he would come even if I invited him.”
The Adria Tour will be played across Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Montenegro with the first day of the tournament listed to begin from June 13. The tournament will go on till the first week of July and Thiem, Zverev and Grigor Dimitrov will all be a part of the tournament.
