The Adria Tour continues to be in the news for all the wrong reasons after two more players tested positive for the coronavirus.
Following on the heels of Grigor Dimitrov who had announced on Monday he had shown symptoms and subsequently tested positive for the virus, both Borna Coric and Viktor Troicki also made similar announcements.
Coric was Dimitrov’s opponent in their match on Saturday and Troicki had been playing at the Adria Tour exhibition competition since its inception last week.
Making matters worse was Troicki’s wife had also tested positive but Alexander Zverev, Andrey Rublev and Marin Cilic had tested negative.

Novak Djokovic, one of the organisers of the Adria Tour, has come under criticism from fellow tennis players and fans for taking no effort to main any of the social norms seen world over during this pandemic.
Fans without mask were seen in the stands, and players attended after-match parties where there wasn’t even semblance of precautions taken by them.
And with Djokovic opting not to test himself in Croatia before leaving for Serbia, it has led to some expected, angry reactions.

Nick Kyrgios, who had already questioned US Open’s decision to go ahead with the tournament despite the obvious issues associated with it, called it a “bonehead decision” to organise the Adria Tour in this manner.
He also tweeted:
“Speedy recovery fellas. But that’s what happens when you disregard all protocols. This IS NOT A JOKE.”
Britain’s Dan Evans, who will be involved in another exhibition competition by the name of the Battle of the Brits, also panned the call to carry out the event in the manner it had.
Castigating the decision to party and dance with a total disregard to any norms, Evans said Djokovic should take responsibility about the way things went.
Evans added:
“Put it this way I don’t think he should be having a players partying and dancing all over each other. Now two very good tennis players have tested positive. He should feel some responsibility in his event and how it has transpired.”
ATP Player Council member Bruno Soares, called it a “horror show” and added:
“Enormous irresponsibility and huge immaturity. They were totally careless, and it’s difficult for me to find the words.”
