Cori Gauff v Jennifer Brady Head to Head
The one-time 49th-ranked Gauff has never faced the current 49th-ranked Brady before in a match at the highest level.

Gauff Continues to Impress
It’s important to not forget Gauff is just 16 years old, a fact that could get lost in the din of the hype. And at 16, she is playing the kind of tennis and showing the type of maturity one usually sees from a battle-hardened professional.
She started off with a 7-5, 7-5 drubbing of Caroline Dolehide in the opening round here but her real test came in the second round when she faced Aryna Sabalenka, a seven-time WTA tournament winner. And the way she managed to come through, despite dropping the second set against her more experienced and a highly-pedigreed opponent was thrilling to watch.
In her quarterfinals against the in-form Ons Jabeur, Gauff fell to a first set loss and all eyes were on her how she would manage after that. Things didn’t get any better in the second set for starters, as Gauff was 4-2 down and staring at a sure defeat.
Not how Gauff was thinking. She rallied to win 10 of the next 11 games to pocket the match and book her semifinal spot.

Brady Could Prove to be a Handful Though
25-year-old Brady hasn’t quite managed to fulfill the kind of potential she had shown earlier in her career but in more recent times she has been able to get close to her best.
Brady was a quarterfinalist at the Brisbane International as a qualifier, defeating Maria Sharapova and Ash Barty in the process and then made it to the semifinal at Dubai, again having to play three matches during the qualifiers. There, the wins came against Elina Svitolina, Marketa Vondrousova and Garbine Muguruza.
And now on her return to competitive tennis since the resumption of the tour, Brady has won three matches in a row without dropping more than three games in a set. Heather Watson was sent packing 6-2, 6-1, Magda Linette was defeated 6-2, 6-3 and then in the quarterfinal, Marie Bouzkova proved to be no match again, losing 6-1, 6-2.
Cori Gauff v Jennifer Brady Prediction & Tip
This could be an interesting one and a tough one to call. Brady is a bookmaker’s favourite with 4/5 for her win to 1/1 for a Gauff victory. We think we could see another three-setter here.
Tip: Three sets in the match: 11/8 (bet365)
