Adrian Mannarino v John Millman Head to Head

The pair have only met once so far on the tour. That meeting was at the Tokyo Open last year where Millman won in three sets.

Mannarino Looking to Repeat Last Year’s Run in New York

The 32-year-old Frenchman would be hoping that even though the venue of this year’s Cincinnati Open has changed, his fortunes at the tournament remains the same. He had an impressive run here last season where he beat Christian Garin and Mikhail Kukushkin to reach the third round.

But if he is to repeat or better the run from last year, he will have to improve on his this season’s results big time. He hasn’t had a great start to the 2020 campaign where he lost seven out of his first nine matches. He then decided to step up back and played at the Monterrey Challenger which he won.

But he couldn’t continue that momentum much further as the season was suspended. Now he will have to not only find that momentum back but also make sure that he finds form and rhythm soon before the US Open.

First Match for the Australian in Almost Six Months

The Australian had a decent start to the 2020 season with a quarter-final run at Auckland before reaching the third round at his home Grand Slam in Australian Open.

He went down fighting in a gruelling five-set match against Roger Federer. His form suffered post that with a couple of first-round exits before the season stopped.

The 31-year-old was struggling with minor injuries at the start of the year and hasn’t played any competitive tennis in a while. The Australian did not progress beyond the first qualifying round in the last editions here. His best showing at the tournament was reaching the second round four years ago.

Thus he has a great opportunity to match his best run at the tournament. But it remains to be seen how ready he is after such a long break.

Adrian Mannarino v John Millman Prediction & Tip

Both the players haven’t had a lot of tennis leading up to this match. So we can expect a match which will have a lot of unforced errors and breaks in serve. It may just come down to the fact that the winner will be the one who makes the fewer mistakes on the day.

Tip: Mannarino to win in three sets: 3/1 (bet365)
