Novak Djokovic v Jan-Lennard Struff Head to Head
There have been three previous meetings between Djokovic and Struff and the top seed has won them all. They faced off as recently as the Australian Open earlier this year and in that first round outing Struff managed to take a set off Djokovic. The previous two matches had come in Doha in 2017 and French Open last year.

Djokovic Shrugs off Neck, Sandgren
Sandgren had troubled Roger Federer at the Australian Open earlier this year and was hoping to do the same to Djokovic. More so because Djokovic had entered their third round match with a neck issue from the previous encounter.
That did not quite work out to plan for Sandgren however, as Djokovic cruised through to the quarterfinal with a 6-2, 6-4 win. Djokovic needed just 88 minutes and faced a mere four break-points, all of which were easily saved by the world number one to march into the next round.
And for those wondering how his neck is feeling, Djokovic had good news for them. He said after the match:
“I’m as close to painless neck as I can be. I’m feeling very good and that has obviously positively reflected on my game today.”
Cincinnati Open was Djokovic’s last standing hurdle in a bid to win the Career Golden Masters and he did so in 2018. Now, fully fit, rested and raring to go, it won’t be a surprise to see him go all the way yet again.

Struff in the Form of His Life
The German’s best showing at a Grand Slam was his fourth round appearance at the French Open last year while the last-16 stage at the Indian Wells Masters was his best showing in a Masters competition. Both these matches came in 2019.
Now, by making it to the quarterfinals, at least on paper he has registered his best showing in the top tournaments.
And in getting to the last-eight here, it’s not been any assistance from the draw either. In the first round he needed to overcome the highly talented Alex De Minaur and he did so in straight sets.
This was then followed by a three-set win over Denis Shapovalov before he stunned the much fancied David Goffin in the third. Now he faces the best player in the world and while it might not get as easy as the previous rounds, Struff’s confidence could help him trouble the Serb.
Novak Djokovic v Jan-Lennard Struff Prediction & Tip
Djokovic is a whopping 1/6 to win this encounter and there’s barely any value in that. Instead look at the games market, for which we will go over with over 20.5 games in the match as Struff could push his opponent into a tie-breaker in one of the sets.
Tip: Over 20.5 games in the match: 5/6 (bet365)
