2019 saw Khachanov make the quarter-finals of the French Open, but a poor end to the season followed including an early loss at Paris as he sought to defend his title. 2020 got off to another mixed start for the Russian, losing a thriller at the Australian Open to home favorite Nick Kyrgios.
With a big serve and a devastating forehand, Khachanov remains a huge threat on the faster surfaces, and will be looking to return consistent form and results at this year’s US Open.

Next Gen Finals Winner Looking To Make Slam Mark
Jannik Sinner was a relatively unknown 18-year-old Italian teenager playing on the ATP Challenger and ITF Futures tour this time last year. A wild card entry to the European Open saw him make the semi-finals defeating Gael Monfils en route and then he furthered it winning the Next Gen ATP Finals in Milan, defeating Alex de Minaur in the title round.
Breaking into the top 100 of the world rankings, Sinner won his first match against a top ten player in David Goffin, and made the quarter-finals of the ATP 500 at Rotterdam. The Italian teenager will be looking to further his successful start to his career, by making a mark at the majors, in the near future.
A tough opener against Khachanov lies ahead, but Sinner will hope to make the most of it, with some fearless tennis.

An exciting match between two players with immense promise and potential, at somewhat different stages of their career. Khachanov has made it to the second week of majors before, but is looking for consistency and results that saw him make the top 10 of the ATP rankings in late 2018.
