Diego Schwartzman v Cameron Norrie Head to Head
This is the third meeting between the players, whose head-to-head is tied at 1-1. While Schwartzman won in a decider at the 2018 Antwerp Open, Norrie won another decider at Acapulco in 2019.

Schwartzman Hoping For Clinical Start To US Open
Diego Schwartzman has been on the tour for most of the last decade and been a consistent factor in most tournaments. Among the shortest players on the tour, the Argentine has displayed grit, perseverance and determination through his career and done well to be a consistent presence in the top 15 for the last couple season.
Schwartzman is a three time Grand Slam quarter-finalist and twice at the US Open, including last year where he lost to eventual champion Rafa Nadal. A strong force to reckon with on the slower clay courts, the Argentine has done well on the slower hard courts in recent times as well, like at Flushing Meadows.
Schwartzman was defeated by Novak Djokovic in the fourth round of the Australian Open this year and did well in the Latin American clay court season in February. He lost to big serving American Reilly Opelka at the Western and Southern Open this week.

Tricky Opponent In Norrie
Briton Cameron Norrie has been on the tour for a relatively short period of time, but his uncanny playing style saw him break into the top 50 of the ATP rankings as early as 2020. Norrie did well in 2019 to make the finals of the Auckland Open early in the year, followed by being a semi-finalist at the Acapulco ATP 500 defeating Schwartzman en route.
Norrie has not managed to keep that level of consistency through 2019 and the shorter 2020 season thus far, but continues to be a tricky opponent for all at various tournaments.
With a big serve, and aggresive approach to the game, the British player has caused challenges for Schwartzman in the past, and could be a test in the US Open opener.
Diego Schwartzman v Cameron Norrie Prediction & Tip
Although Schwartzman is considerably higher ranked and the more experienced of the two, Norrie has run him close on the hard courts in both their meetings, and has the potential to do the same again this time around.
Expect a well fought contest, but the Argentine’s experience should prevail in best of five sets. Schwartman to win the opener in four sets.
Tip: Schwartzman to win in four sets: 11/4 (bet365)
