Cameron Norrie v Federico Coria Head to Head
This will be the first match between the 76th-ranked Norrie and the 103rd-ranked Coria.

Norrie Shocks Schwartzman in Five Sets
Down two sets to love against the ninth seeded Diego Schwartzman, Norrie was staring down the wrong end of a barrel. Sure, Norrie wasn’t expected to go through but he would have hoped for a better fight than what the scoreline read, a 6-3, 6-4 in favour of his Argentinian opponent.
For a player who had shown some spark during the exhibition tournaments he played during the pandemic break, this looked particularly grim. What brought his confidence back, however, was his stickiness which enabled him to remain toe to toe with Schwartzman even when everything seemed lost.
Norrie broke his opponent in the fifth and seventh game of the third set and repeated the dose in the fourth to level the match at 2-2.
The fifth saw an exciting battle step up a notch when Schwartzman broke Norrie twice but was broken back in the very next game to take the set to 3-3. At that stage, Norrie dropped his serve yet again and when Schwartzman held to make it 5-3, the writing seemed to be on the wall.
Except, Norrie didn’t read it. He first held his own serve, broke Schwartzman after thwarting a match-point and then got a couple of match points of his own in the final game of the set, taking the second.
He now faces another Argentinian, one who wrote a script of his own.

Coria Comes Back from Two Sets Down Too
Coria’s only win in the main draw of a hard court event this season had come in the Noumea Challenger around the second week of January. Following that, defeats in the qualifiers of the Australian Open, Monterrey Challenger and the Cincinnati Open had resulted in Coria entering this encounter at 13/5 odds to win it.
And when he fell behind two sets and 4-0 in the third set of his opening round match here against Jason Jung, it looked like the bookmakers had been proved right again. It was all over bar the shouting.
Or was it? Jung looked to be troubled by a fitness issue and from being two games away from registering a straight-set win, won nine games in a row and 14 of the next 15 to go 2-0 up in the final set. It was at this time Jung retired from the match because of his injury.
It might not be that easy again for Coria but he does go into the second round knowing he can fight back from most situations. Unfortunately for him, so does his opponent.
Cameron Norrie v Federico Coria Prediction & Tip
Norrie should be able to put it across Coria in this one but the question is if the Argentinian can take a set off his opponent. We think so but that’s as close as he would get to winning anything in this match.
Tip: Norrie to win in four sets: 2/1 (bet365)
