Karen Khachanov v Andrey Kuznetsov Head to Head
This will be the second meeting between these two players with Khachanov having won the first which came in the opening round at the 2017 Wimbledon.

In a match lasting 16 minutes short of four hours, Khachanov came back two sets down to register a fine, five-set win over Jack Sinner in his first round match. Khachanov looked dead to the tournament when he fell 6-3, 7-6 behind but came back strongly to level the match, dropping just two games over the next two sets.
If Khachanov thought his opponent would just fold in the final set, he was in for a surprise. Khachanov got multiple opportunities to break Sinner in the fifth set but the Italian’s stickiness lasted through the set before the Russian managed to take him down in the final set.
Interestingly, these two, Khachanov and Sinner had played each other in an exhibition tournament recently and there too, Sinner had taken the two sets including the second in a tie-breaker. Unfortunately for Sinner, the added requirement of winning a third set didn’t quite materialise here.
Khachanov, whose best ever showing at a Grand Slam is a quarterfinal at the previous French Open, will now hope to emulate his best showing at the US Open – a third round in 2018.

Kuznetsov Wins on 5/1 Odds
On a protected ranking after having decided to hang up his racquet and taking up coaching, his first round match was only his second of the year and first at this level since 2018. And did he excel at it or what!
Playing Sam Querrey, not too many gave him much of a chance with some bookmakers offering 5/1 for his win and he won it after all. Not just that, Kuznetsov won that encounter in straight sets too.
While Khachanov will be a different kettle of fish given his pedigree, the manner of his opening round win makes Kuznetsov a dangerous opponent. And while Khachanov will still be an overwhelming favourite, the odds on a Kuznetsov win have shortened for this one despite playing a much superior opponent.

Khachanov is 1/5 to win this but the better market for this is the total games one. Expect them to battle it out a tad before Khachanov scoops out the encounter.
