Jennifer Brady v Caroline Garcia Head to Head
This has been an interesting rivalry which has seen six matches with both players having won three apiece. Brady is 3-1 on hard court surfaces though, having beaten Garcia at Hua Hin, Dubai and Indian Wells – all of which came last year. Garcia finally reversed the trend when she won at the 2019 Nottingham Open.

We expected Brady to start off a favourite in her second round match against Cici Bellis but for the latter to give her bit of a fight. Brady allowed none of that.
The American, who had earlier won the Lexington Open on her return to tennis from the pandemic break, routed Bellis 6-1, 6-2 to make it to the third round of the US Open – a step closer to emulating to her best ever showing at a Grand Slam, which came in 2017 when he made it to the fourth round at both, the Australian Open and US Open.
She was on court for a mere 51 minutes, broke her opponent six times and hit four aces and 21 winners en route her way to the third round.
Earlier in the tournament, Brady had defeated Anna Blinkova 6-3, 6-2 and while there was that blip of losing in the first round at the Cincinnati Open, her Lexington Open win had also seen her drop no sets.

Garcia Shocks the Top Seed
For someone who had played just two matches since the sport went into the pandemic break, Garcia has dished out two, surprisingly strong performances in the US Open so far. Why surprising?
Because of her record otherwise this season which has seen her make it to just one quarterfinal – at Lyon – and never beyond. In the five other tournaments she had played this year, Garcia made the second round in just three before losing.
And here at Flushing Meadows Garcia has already sent out Jasmine Paolini and shocked the top seeded Karolina Pliskova. In fact, the manner of her win against Pliskova was stunning – she faced just six break-points and was broken only once in the entire match, winning 6-1, 7-6 to make the third round.
A whopping 30 winners were hit en route, as compared to a mere 13 off the racquet off Pliskova. Now for another challenge in the form of a player who is looking good to go deep into the competition.
Brady v Garcia Prediction & Tip
This is an interesting one because on the one hand is an in-form player who has the potential to stun a few and on the other is one who has just beaten the top seed in straight sets. We will still back Brady here because of her overall form, but trust Garcia to test her a tad.
