Eugenie Bouchard v Viktoriya Tomova Head to Head
This will be the first time Bouchard and Tomova will be facing off in a competitive match at this level.

Bouchard Comes Through the Qualifiers
It’s interesting to see Bouchard opt not to participate in the hard court leg post the resumption of tennis in August. She featured in the WTA Prague Open, and then followed it up with an appearance at WTA Prague Challenger, both played on clay.
Bouchard started off well in the first of these aforementioned competitions, beating Veronika Kudermetova and Tamara Zidansek in back to back matches, before losing to Elise Mertens in the quarterfinals.
Just when you thought, however, things were looking brighter for the former Wimbledon runner-up, she crashed out of the second of those competitions in the first round.
At Istanbul, the now-272nd-ranked Bouchard has had to come through the qualifiers, beating Ivana Jorovic and Leonie Kung in straight sets, but her real test begins now.

Tomova Playing Her First Clay Match of 2020
Tomova, ranked 133rd in the world, is playing her second match overall and first match on clay after resumption. She was a part of the Eastern European Championship in which she won eight matches in a row in exhibition tennis but most of her tour successes have come on the ITF circuit.
Like for example, she made it to the final of the Glasgow ITF competition earlier in the season, losing the title-decider before making it one better at Sunderland.
She featured in the opening round at the US Open, losing that match to Amanda Anisimova but not before she had given the American bit of a fight. On clay, however, Tomova doesn’t possess a great record and playing against someone who has sharpened her skills on this surface recently will make for a tough one for the Bulgarian.
Bouchard v Tomova Prediction & Tip
This should be Bouchard’s match for the taking other than if she is exhausted from having played a couple of rounds in as many days. Might even snatch a straight-set win.
Tip: Bouchard to win: 8/11 (bet365)
