Who is playing?
The first semifinal in the women’s section of the draw will see Japan’s former US Open winner Naomi Osaka take on surprise entrant Jennifer Brady. And this will be followed by the 23-time Grand Slam winner Serena Williams playing against Victoria Azarenka for a place in the final.
Osaka has been typically clinical form, while being stretched in a couple of matches while Brady hasn’t dropped a set or lost more than four games in a set. On the other hand, Serena has struggled and at times looked scrappy but still found ways to win while Azarenka continues to find a level close to when she won those two Grand Slam titles.
When will the US Open 2020 Women’s Singles semifinals be played?
Both the semifinals will be played on Thursday, September 10 with the first match to begin at around 7 pm local time, which is 12 midnight BST or 9 am if you are in Japan. The second semifinal will begin after the first finishes.
Are there any other matches?
Yes, other than the women’s singles semifinals, the day will also see Men’s & Women’s Wheelchair Singles quarterfinal matches, the Quad Wheelchair Singles round-robin matches, and the Men’s Doubles final on Thursday.
Eighth seeds Nikola Mektic & Wesley Koolhof will take on Mate Pavic & Bruno Soares in the title-decider of the doubles draw.

What are the bookmakers saying?
Naomi Osaka is the bookmakers’ favourite with bet365 offering 13/10 for her to lift her second US Open and third Grand Slam title, followed by Serena Williams who starts off at 21/10. Interestingly, Serena starts a favourite in her match against Azarenka but things could change quickly given how the latter has played all tournament.
