Cameron Norrie v Daniel Elahi Galan Head to Head
This will be the first meeting between the 25-year-old Norrie and 24-year-old Galan.

Norrie Looks to Start Well
Cameron Norrie comes to Paris on the back of his best Grand Slam showing. Having never gone past the second round of a major, Norrie reached the third round of the US Open last month.
And it was quite a performance from the Johannesburg-born left-hander, who came from 2 sets down to defeat Argentina’s Diego Schwartzmann in an entertaining five-set first-round contest.
Norrie beat another Argentine in Federico Coria in the second round but fell to Spain’s Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in four sets in the Round of 32.
Ranked 71st in the world, Norrie, who has a 48-56 career win-loss record in singles, reached a career-high ranking of 41 last year. It was also in 2019 that he reached his only ATP Tour final, when he finished runner-up to Tennys Sandgren in Auckland.
He could be facing Sandgren again in the second round at Roland Garros if both win their first round contests. Sandgren, though, has a tough first round against the 29th seed Hubert Hurkacz, while Norrie, who is 6-9 in 2020, is expected to win his opener.

Galan Enters Main Draw as Lucky Loser
Colombia’s Daniel Elahi Galan made it to the main draw of the French Open for the first time as a lucky loser.
Galan defeated Ukraine’s Sergiy Stakhovsky in the first qualifier and then ousted Spain’s Mario Vilela Martinez in the second round of qualification, but fell to Finland’s Henri Laaksonen in the third round of qualifiers. He, however, made it to the main draw as a lucky loser.
A winner of three Futures titles, Galan has a 10-9 career win-loss record, and is 2-2 in 2020.
The right-handed Colombian had earlier this year won all three of his qualifiers in the Australian Open, but lost his first round match to Chile’s Alejandro Tabilo in a thrilling five-setter.
Norrie v Galan Prediction and Tip
Galan is a good clay-court player, and could pose a challenge, but Norrie is expected to win, possibly in four.
Tip: Norrie to win: 10/11 (bet365)

I always enjoy reading your daily predictions. Here’s my $0.02: Norrie has YET to play on clay this year, and doesn’t particularly much like the surface at 10-12 ATP, 18-20 all levels. Norrie has won only 1 match at RG, when his opponent retired. In the other 2 losses, he only won 1 set – combined.
Meanwhile, Galan has more clay experience this year. He beat both Londero and Mayer in straights in Davis Cup in March. He was a semifinalist in Houston last year. He’s played 227 career matches on clay (130-97), and he’s 6-3 on the ATP level.
I think I like Galan in this one. He’s the current favorite at -115.
Correction: Norrie played in the Forli Challenger last week, winning one vs Harrison in 3 sets (as an American, I can say that beating an American in 3 sets on clay is not really a “win” lol) and losing 2&4 to Pellegrino. But the general principle I was trying to convey still stands, I think ha.
