Oscar Otte v Radu Albot Head to Head
This will be the second meeting between these two players with Albot having won the first at the Bundesliga tennis league in 2018.

Having played all of his tennis on clay since the return from pandemic, Otte would be reasonably proud of how he has gone on court in this period.
Having won a couple of rounds at the Prague Challenger before going down to Stan Wawrinka, he then went on to make it to the final at the Ostrava Challenger where he lost to Aslan Karatsev. Not to be deterred, Otte then went the distance in the very next tournament which was held at the Aix en Provence, beating Thiago Seyboth Wild in the title-decider this time.
It was only his second Challenger title.
The switch to indoor hard courts was never going to be easy for the 142nd-ranked Otte, but he has done well to win his qualifiers to make the main draw. Otte’s biggest win of the season, however, came in the first round of the competition when he stunned fellow German Jan-Lennard Struff in straight sets to march into round two.
He now faces an opponent whose form this year has been quite poor.

Albot’s Won Only Three Matches This Season
When Albot defeated Jordan Thompson in the first round of the French Open, the victory would have come as a huge relief to the 82nd-ranked Moldovan. It was his first main draw win of the season, having earlier not won a single of those in 10 previous competitions.
Earlier at Hamburg he had finally won his first match in the qualifiers but failed to make it through to the main draw and with the defeat in the second round at the French Open, his win-loss record for the season stood at 2-12.
Which is playing Pierre Hugues-Herbert in the first round here at the Cologne Open, he wasn’t much of a favourite, starting out at 4/3 against a player going through his own struggles all season.
Albot’s belief would have improved manifold in these last two or so weeks but the fact is he is still struggling to get a move on. The good news is he’s up against a player who has never been better than 129th in the world but the not-so-good part is Otte has had a confident run.
