Borna Coric v Roman Safiullin Head to Head
This will be the first time Coric and Safiullin face off in a competitive match.

Coric Hopes to Take US Open Form Forward
For a player who has promised so much in his career, Coric had come into this year’s US Open without a single appearance at a Grand Slam quarterfinal. All of that changed when Coric came through to the last eight which included a win over Stefanos Tsitsipas at Flushing Meadows to take the monkey off his back.
Since then, however, Coric has featured in two clay court tournaments and done nothing of note. A second round defeat at Rome was followed by a stunning opening round exit at the hands of Norbert Gombos, a player ranked outside the top 100.
Then again, clay has never been Coric’s most preferred surface but then the question is if he can overturn his inconsistencies indoors as well. Take the example of 2019 when Coric featured in four tournaments on indoor hard court and reached the final at one of them – in Vienna Open.
What about the rest? He was knocked out in the first round there.
That final at Vienna turned out to be his best showing indoors so far. This time, Coric has started out with a straight-set win over Feliciano Lopez in the first round and has a 199th-ranked opponent facing him in the second.
Good chance for the Croat to march deeper into the competition.

Wildcard Safiullin Plays Maiden Main Draw Match This Year…
…and wins! Drawn to take on the lucky loser Emilio Gomez in the first round, Safiullin wasted no time in getting past him, winning 6-4, 6-2 to register his first main draw victory at an ATP competition this year.
Interestingly, Safiullin had participated in only one tour-level competition before this and that came in the qualifiers of the French Open. The Russian lost in the second round there.
The 23-year-old, who won the junior Australian Open singles competition in 2015, has also defeated Andrey Rublev on the juniors circuit, winning their encounter at the Grade A Trofeo Bonfiglio in the title-decider.
In recent times, Safiullin is slow accumulating his ranking points by featuring at the lower level of competitions, and more recently, earlier this year, he won his maiden Challenger title in Cherbourg.
The surface? Indoor hard-court.
Coric v Safiullin Prediction and Tip
While Coric is 1/7 to win this one, we are looking at Safiullin possessing a surprise factor on a surface he won a title recently. Could see hi push Coric hard in this one.
Tip: Over 20.5 games in the match: 4/5 (bet365)
