Federico Delbonis v Danilo Petrovic Head to Head
This will be the first time these two players will face off in a competitive encounter.

Delbonis Pushes Pablo Out
It’s been a tough couple of rounds for the Argentine but Delbonis will be proud of the manner in which he has carved out his wins. In the first round, he edged out Andreas Seppi 7-5, 7-6 in a match which had just one break of serve – late in the opening set.
And then in the second round against Pablo Andujar, he had an early break, then was a break behind before losing the opening set 7-5. The second set saw Delbonis go down a break yet again on two separate occasions including once at 4-4 to have Andujar serving for the match.
The Argentine, however, fought back from the dead to level the terms in the tie-breaker and then eke out a break of serve early in the third set to clinch the victory.
Delbonis, who had lost in the first round of both, the US Open and the French Open, came into this tournament on the back of a semifinal at the Parma Challenger, where he defeated Marco Cecchinato before losing to Frances Tiafoe. Earlier, he made the quarterfinal of the Kitzbuhel Open as a qualifier, and the manner of his two wins here should give him a lot of confidence.

Petrovic Benefits from Fognini Withdrawal
When Fabio Fognini became the latest victim to the coronavirus, there was one unexpected beneficiary – Petrovic. The Serb, ranked 166th in the world, had been knocked out in the second qualifying round and had no business making the first round of the competition.
Instead, Fognini’s opening round bye meant Petrovic was not just bumped up into the main draw but also replaced the Italian directly into the second round. And a shock with over Roberto Carballes Baena in that match has meant Petrovic, a two-time Challenger win, has romped into his first ever ATP quarterfinal.
For someone who has typically achieved his best results at the Futures and to a certain extent Challenger level, a quarterfinal here will already help him break into the top 150 of the rankings. While Delbonis, on clay, would be a tough opponent, Petrovic is on the kind of high which should give him the needed adrenaline going into this match.
Can that convert into a win though?
Delbonis v Petrovic Prediction and Tip
Delbonis is the favourite – and by some margin – but we do expect Petrovic to put up a staunch fight. A good chance to try out the games market.
Tip: Over 20.5 games in the match: 5/6
