Alex de Minaur v Feliciano Lopez Head to Head
The pair have met twice before, and the current head-to-head record stands at one win each. De Minaur won in the quarter-final of the Sydney Open in 2018, but Lopez got his revenge later that same year at the Paris Masters.

De Minaur Survived Gasquet Battle
De Minaur progressed to the second round, after surviving a battle with Richard Gasquet of France on Tuesday night.
The match began with both men dropping their serve, but it was de Minaur who dropped his for the second time, enabling Gasquet to take the lead in the match.
The Australian appeared in trouble when he dropped his serve again early in the second set, 5-3 down and headed towards the exit doors. He fought back, however, levelled things up, and it went to a tie-break.
Again, the pair swapped breaks but then Gasquet dropped his serve once more enabling de Minaur to square the match.
The final set was also tense but was ultimately decided in the seventh game when de Minaur forced a break point and duly converted it. Gasquet had his own break point in the next game, but de Minaur successfully defended it, and then settled matters by breaking the French serve once more.
A Houdini’s act from De Minaur, if you will, but can he take any confidence from it?

Veteran Spaniard Looking to Make Rare Progress
Now 39 years old, Lopez has not been in the best recent form, losing in the first round of the US Open, the French Open and, last week, in St. Petersburg.
In fact, his best result since returning after lockdown was in Kitzbuhel, where he reached the third round only to lose to Marc-Andree Huesca of Switzerland, ranked 187 in the world.
However, he got his campaign in Antwerp off to a flying start by beating Tommy Paul of the USA, the world 59, in straight sets on Monday.
One break of serve in the sixth game was enough for him to win the first set in 35 minutes. He was even more dominant in the second set, breaking the American serve in the third and seventh games to wrap the match up with a minimum of fuss.
Lopez served just 13 aces and faced just one break point on his own serve in the whole match.
De Minaur v Lopez Prediction and Tip
Although Lopez has had the benefit of an extra day’s rest, de Minaur is young enough to recover quickly from his exertions against Gasquet, and should prove too strong for the veteran in this match.
Tip: De Minaur to win: 1/2 (bet365)
