Dennis Novak v Kevin Anderson Head to Head
The pair have never faced each other in a competitive match before. This will be the first-ever encounter between them.

Consistency the Biggest Issue for Novak
The Austrian player has steadily been improving over the last couple of seasons. He has achieved multiple career-high rankings during this period and also won his maiden challenger title at Taipei last year. But this year, one thing that has been missing from his game has been consistency.
Despite showing glimpses of his talent and strokeplay every now and then, Novak has not been able to put together a string of strong performances.
He has played in 12 main tour events this year and has won more than one match in the main draw only once. That was a couple of weeks ago when he reached the quarter-final at Cologne. Apart from that though, he has crashed out in the opening rounds or at the qualifying stages itself on multiple occasions, many of them against lower-ranked opponents.
The 27-year-old would have to turn around his form quickly if he wants to stay in the top 100. After reaching a career-high of 85 earlier this year, Novak is currently 91 in the world. And he would be hoping that he can have a strong run this week and continue the momentum till the end of the season.

Anderson Slowly Starting Pre Injury Rhythm Again
After a brilliant 2018 season, the last one and a half-season have been a complete write off for the tall South African. Multiple injuries to knee and elbow took a toll on him and he finally had to undergo a knee injury earlier this year.
He later admitted that he played most of the 2019 season with injuries and as a result, could only play 20 times last season. He said that recovering from the setback was “beyond difficult” for him at one stage.
But now he is finally showing some signs that he is getting back to his pre-injury best. The two time Grand Slam champion started the post lockdown half of the season with a shock win over Kyle Edmund at Cincinatti Masters. But after that suffered four back to back losses. That included the first-round exit from the US Open as well, a tournament where he reached the finals back in 2017.
But his performance and overall game were much better at the French Open. He reached the third round and one of his wins was a hard-fought five-setter against Dusan Lajovic. He has shown enough glimpses during the three matches that he is finally getting close to 100%.
His body is now able to take the grinds of playing at the top level once again. Playing on fast indoor courts would suit him and he would be hoping to continue his long road back to top.
Dennis Novak v Kevin Anderson Prediction and Tip
Despite ranked lower, Anderson will be the favourite here. His big serve and powerful game should be enough to see Novak out. The South African is getting back to form & is dangerous on this surface. And the Austrian neither has the form nor the weapons to trouble the 34-year-old.
Tip: Anderson to win in straight sets: 1/1 (bet365)
