Dusan Lajovic v Adrian Mannarino Head to Head

The Serb leads 3-1, having won in Hamburg this year and in Basel and Doha in 2018 and 2019 respectively. The Frenchman’s only win over Lajovic came in the quarterfinal in Moscow last year.

Lajovic Struggling With Form

With Grigor Dimitrov pulling out of the Paris Masters with an injury, World No. 26 Dusan Lajovic was given an entry into the tournament and he will kickstart his campaign against France’s Adrian Mannarino.

Lajovic enters the tournament on the back of four consecutive defeats in October, which started with a loss to Kevin Anderson in the second round of the French Open. Since then, the Serb has lost to Laslo Djere, Frances Tiafoe and Lorenzo Sonego in his first matches in Sardinia, Antwerp and Vienna respectively.

The 30-year-old Lajovic, who won his only Tour title in Croatia in 2019 and also entered his maiden Masters 1000 final in Monte Carlo last year, won four of his six singles matches at the inaugural ATP Cup this year, helping Serbia become the first champions. Apart from that success, he has also featured in two quarterfinals this year, losing to Casper Ruud at the Argentina Open and Stefanos Tsitsipas in Hamburg.

A clay court specialist, Lajovic is 14-15 this year and 7-8 on hard courts.

Mannarino Comes in as an Astana Open Finalist

In contrast to Lajovic, France’s Adrian Mannarino is in good touch, and will head to Paris confidently, having reached the final of the Astana Open this week. The 32-year-old lefty defeated Japan’s Yuichi Sugita in the first round, America’s Mackenzie McDonald in the quarterfinal and Finland’s Emil Ruusuvuori in the semifinal to set up a title clash with Australia’s John Millman, which is scheduled for later today.

It will be the 10th time that Mannarino features in a Tour-level final. In his previous nine appearances, he succeeded in lifting the title only once, winning the Rosmalen Grass Court Championships last year.

Winner of the Monterrey Challenger event earlier this year, Mannarino is 9-14 so far this season and at the time of writing is looking to overcome John Millman to add to his title count. Either way, Mannarino’s strong form should help him against a player struggling for the same.

Lajovic v Mannarino Prediction and Tip

On current form, expect Mannarino to win this but Lajovic is no pushover and more so given Mannarino will be playing his fifth match in about eight days.

Tip: Three sets in the match: 6/4 (bet365)
