Milos Raonic vs Pierre-Hugues Herbert Head to Head
This will be the second time that the pair will face each other in a competitive match. Their only prior meeting was in the Australian Open last year where the Canadian won in straight sets.

Raonic Picked Up Where He Left in Antwerp
The 29-year-old Canadian had reached the semi-finals at the Saint Petersburg open at the start of last month. And he was looking in imperious form in Antwerp as well, winning both his matches in straight sets.
An abdominal injury, however, forced him to withdraw from his quarter-final match. And for someone who has suffered from untimely injuries on multiple occasions in the last few seasons, many would have feared if his latest breakdown would halt his good form.
In the first round here in Paris, he looked back to his best and won in straight sets. He hardly broke a sweat in a match where he dispatched Slovenia’s Aljaz Bedene easily. And now the 2014 finalist will be hoping to continue his impressive run.
Raonic has had a solid season so far after an injury-hit 2019. He started the season by reaching the last eight at the Australian Open and then followed it up with a semi-final appearance at the Delray Beach Open.
His restart after the pandemic break was excellent where he reached the final at Western & Southern Open. The Canadian has a huge serve and he looked right in the form in the first round where he hit 18 aces.

Herbert is Dangerous But Inconsistent
The Frenchman has had most of his success in recent years in the doubles category. He won four doubles titles last year including the Australian Open, Paris Masters and the Masters Cup. This season as well he has won two ATP doubles titles at Rotterdam and Cologne along with one lower-level title at Prague.
But on the singles side, his performances have reflected more of a boom or bust nature. He primarily plays on the challenger level in singles but has also had some notable results on the ATP tour as well.
He reached the last eight at Doha at the start of the season and repeated the feat a month later in Montpellier. Later in the season at French Open, he gave a big scare to Alexander Zverev in the second round, taking the match to five sets.
In the first round here in Paris, he had to dig deep to come back from a set down to win against Tennys Sandgren. He got less than 50% of his first serves in which is something that he will have to improve on.
Raonic vs Herbert Prediction and Tip
If Herbert can find the range of his serve, this could be an interesting tie. Both the players rely heavily on their powerful strokes and the Frenchman has a better game at the net due to his doubles exploits. The Canadian should have more than enough in the end.
Tip: Raonic to win in straight sets: 11/8 (bet365)
