Three matches played in this tournament, and Raonic has won all three in straight sets. In all three matches, however, Raonic had gone in as a heavy favourite, 1/10 to 1/5 across the matches, and the manner in which the Canadian has completed his victories is an indicator of his form.
That win over Marcos Giron in the third round on Thursday was his eighth indoors this season to go with just two losses in turn.
The first set against Giron saw no breaks of serve but once in the tie-breaker, Raonic raced off to a 5-0 lead before clinching it 7-1. And once he had wrapped that up, Raonic broke Giron twice in the second set to complete a 7-6, 6-2 victory.
Raonic had earlier made it to the semifinal at the St. Petersburg Open before having to withdraw from the Antwerp Open quarterfinal because of fitness concerns. Here, victories over Aljaz Bedene and Pierre-Hugues Herbert in the first two rounds and then one against Giron here have ensured Raonic his best showing here since 2016.
He was a semifinalist in Paris that season, which is something he would like to emulate.

Eight in Eight for Humbert
It hasn’t been easy, but the manner in which Humbert has won the big moments in this tournament has been awe-striking. Three rounds won and all three have gone to a third set, and despite looking underwhelming at times during those three matches, Humbert has shown his mettle.
And the wins have been against three classy and talented opponents – Casper Ruud, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Marin Cilic.
In his latest match against Cilic, Humbert broke his opponent early in the first set but soon dropped serve himself for the Croat to level things off at 3-3. The Frenchman then saved a break-point again, broke Cilic and wrapped up the set in the next game.
The second set went to serve before Cilic fought back to win the tie-breaker but a break of serve for Humber in the sixth game of the third helped him pull down the shutters on the match.
Earlier in the tournament, Humbert had needed three sets to get past Tsitsipas too, in a high-octane contest.
Raonic v Humbert Prediction and Tip
While Raonic is 1/2 to win this, we will do well not to discount Humbert from this contest. The Frenchman has had a couple of tournaments to remember so far and they will serve their purpose in giving him the confidence to push Raonic here.
