Argentine Nadia Podoroska recently became the first qualifier to reach the semi-finals of the French Open. She was absolutely stunning in her run to the tournament’s last four. She was then rewarded with her current career-best 48th place ranking. However, she comes into this match as a slight underdog, mainly because her better performances have been on clay throughout her career.
She however also won two ITF circuits in January on hard courts, proving that she is totally versatile. Add to that her magnificent 43-7 win/loss record throughout the year, and it seems as though she can be expected to take the match to her Romanian Opponent.

Begu Shaky After The Covid-19 Break
Begu started the season well, winning two ITF tournaments in February and March.
Since August, her best result came in the Prague Open, where she reached the tournament’s semi-final only to lose to eventual winner Simona Halep. Other than that, she’s struggled to muster any other good results.
She was ousted in the first round of the Palermo Open and the US Open, and in Rome and Paris on clay, she only made it to the second round of those tournaments.
Her latest crack at a tournament was in the Ostrava Open, but she couldn’t make it past the qualifiers.
Though she comes into the match as the favorite, the former world no. 22 will surely have a similarly tough fixture against the recent Grand Slam semi-finalist.
Podoroska v Begu Prediction and Tip
I strongly believe that Podoroska will shine in this one. She offers some great value at 1/1 for the win, and her form this year proves that she’s more than capable of matching those bookies’ odds. To be on the safer side, however, Podoroska should be expected to at least win one set at half the price.
