Jannik Sinner v Marc-Andrea Huesler Head to Head
This will be the first meeting between Sinner and Huesler.

Sinner Scythes Past Fucsovics
While Sinner’s performance in his first round cannot be described as clinical despite his straight-set win over Marton Fucsovics, the Italian was rarely tested in the match and came through in an hour and 36 minutes.
Sinner frittered away five break points in the very second game of the opening set but converted the sixth only to drop his own serve to love in the very next game. That didn’t put him off for too long though as he broke Fucsovics twice from there on – including when he was serving at 2-5 to stay in the set – and won the opening set.
The story wasn’t too dissimilar in the second set when Sinner broke his opponent early – this time to love – and then lost his serve a few games later. At 4-4, Sinner might have been staring at a tie-breaker but his class shone through as he broke Fucsovics in the ninth gae of that set before serving it out.
A semifinalist at the Cologne Open about three weeks ago, the 2019 ATP Next Gen victor is still awaiting his maiden ATP title win and he seems to have made a good start to that endeavour.

Lucky Loser Huesler Banishes Basilashvili
After qualifying for the main draw of the Sofia Open as a lucky loser following his qualifying defeat at the hands of Aslan Karatsev, Huesler was the second favourite going into his opening round match against Nikoloz Basilashvili. Now Basilashvili is ranked a good few places higher than the 149th-ranked Huesler but his form had underwhelming all season.
Which is why when Huesler grabbed the first set of that opener 6-1, it might not have come as a huge shock to anyone.
Basilashvili fought back by serving better in the second set with Huesler unable to break through but more importantly he was broken while serving to stay in the set at 4-5.
The final set was a close affair with neither player able to get close to the opponent’s serve. Huesler had a match-point on Basilashvili’s serve at 4-5, but the set went into a tie-breaker after that.
Even there it looked like it was going to be tough to pick a winner as both players remained neck in neck – scores at different points in the tie-breaker read 2-2, 3-3, 4-4, 5-5 and 6-6 – but in the end, the Swiss lucky loser came through 8-6 to reach the second round for the first time since the Kitzbuhel Open.
Sinner v Huesler Prediction And Tip
No surprises that Sinner starts favourite but at 1/8 he is rather shortly priced. Expecting a tougher match than that and one in which more than 19.5 games are played.
Tip: Over 19.5 games in the match: 8/11 (bet365)
