2018 Champion Hoping For Promising Season
22-year-old Frances Tiafoe was ranked within the top 30 in the world, soon after winning the 2018 Delray Beach Open. A career that was full of promise and potential has somehow not lived up to expectations, largely due to lack of consistency and application, where young Tiafoe has been found lacking.
Currently ranked just within the top 60, Tiafoe is a former Australian Open quarter-finalist who has recorded some impressive wins in his career. Making the final 16 of the US Open last year was among his better outings in 2020; but he will now be looking to further his career on the bigger stages having been on the tour for a while now.
Back on these familiar courts where he has tasted success, Tiafoe will be looking to start the season on a positive note. A strong favorite in his opener; he will hope to progress with relative ease and make a deep run this week.

Young Aiming To Revive Career
American Donald Young returns to the main ATP tour after more than a year, having lost at the qualifying stages of the 2020 Australian Open and played mostly on the Challenger circuit for the rest of the shortened 2020 season.
Young was once ranked within the top 40 on the tour and a two-time round of 16 participant at the US Open. The 2005 junior world number one broke onto the circuit early but has spent good portions of the last decade and a half out with injuries and off-court issue,s and never had the continuity needed on the tour to step up to the next level.
Having made it through the qualifiers here this week, 31-year-old Young will look for a good outing this week and hoping to return to the form the tour has seen from him in the mid 2010s. With a lot of his success having come on the hard courts, the surface at Delray Beach will be to his liking too.
Tiafoe v Young Prediction and Tip
A clash between two players with colorful personalities; one looking to further his career and potential, and the other looking to re-establish himself to some sort of form. Although Tiafoe has been unpredictable and lacked the consistency he would like, he should ease through his opener against Young who has played minimal tennis in recent times.
Tip: Tiafoe to win in straight sets: 4/7 (bet365)
