Jan-Lennard Struff v Hugo Grenier Head to Head
The pair have never played each other before this.

Rusty Struff Makes Second Round
Struff, who posseses one of the most potent first serve in the men’s game was broken twice in his opening match, but snuffed out the danger of Russia’s Pavel Kotov in 87 minutes.
It wasn’t a vintage performance, but certainly not one which Jan-Lennard Struff will care a great deal about. At these early stages of the season and particularly in the first match, winning takes precedence over all formalities.
The 30-year-old recorded contrasting run of results on tour last year. He was ranked as high as World No.29 last August when he made the quarterfinals of the Cincinnati Masters and the third round of the US Open, losing both times to Novak Djokovic.
But surprsingly his form fell off a cliff after leaving the New York bubble. He won only three matches across eight tournaments and had a year-end ranking of No.37. Can he go all the way this week?

Grenier Posts First Career ATP Match Win
Hugo Grenier won his first ATP tour match on Friday after besting Slovakia’s Alex Molcan 7-5 6-4. In a match that briefly threatened to go away so fast, the Frenchman found himself staring at a 3-1 deficit having been broken early on. But he derailed Molcan’s momentum.
Grenier won five straight games to take the lead and crucially broke at 5-5 to serve for the first set. It was one of four break points he converted in the match. Eventually he earned victory in 90 minutes.
If the 24-year-old can back up that first round win with an upset over the big-serving Struff, he is projected to surpass his previous career-high ranking of World No.237. Grenier has featured predominantly at Challenger and ITF level for the past six years. He has won five ITF titles, but none at Challenger tour.
Struff v Grenier Prediction and Tip
Grenier has played over 400 matches since he turned pro, it did come as surprise to see he never won a match at tour level. But he only received limited opportunities to qualify for main draws with his low ranking. With the entry-list dropping a handful of names, he got a shot in a main draw of an ATP tournament. Struff will likely put a stop to that fairytale, but expect the Frenchman to go down swinging.
Tip: Struff to win in three sets: 3/1 (bet365)
