This will be the first meeting between the World No. 35 Hurkacz and the 293rd-ranked Ecuadorean qualifier.

Hurkacz Powers Past Galan
Hubert Hurkacz needed just under an hour to dispatch Colombia’s Daniel Elahi Galan 6-2, 6-2 in the Round of 16 of the Delray Beach Open on Sunday.
The 23-year-old Pole who received a bye in the first round put up a disciplined performance against Galan as he dropped just nine service points, saved a break point and converted four of seven break point opportunities to notch his first win of the year.
The 2019 Winston-Salem Open champion, Hurkacz, who reached the semifinals in Auckland and quarterfinals in Cologne last year, is known for his powerful strokeplay and he found his footing immediately against Galan as he overpowered the 24-year-old, ranked 115th in the world.
The 6’5” big-serving Pole, who won the Paris Masters doubles title with Felix Auger-Aliassime in 2020, will next face another South American, who is four from four so far this year.

Quiroz Eases Past Karlovic
Word No. 293 Roberto Quiroz continued his winning form at Delray Beach on Sunday as he ousted the big-serving Ivo Karlovic in straight sets.
The 28-year-old lost only five points on his serve, and converted 3 of 5 break points against the 41-year-old to score a 6-2, 6-4 win in just under an hour.
The Ecuadorean, who defeated fellow countryman Gonzalo Escobar in a nail-biting three-setter and Croatia’s Viktor Galovic to enter the main draw, had beaten America’s Noah Rubin 7-6 (7-1), 6-2 in the Round of 32 on Friday.
Hurkacz v Quiroz Prediction and Tip
While Quiroz has started off well, beating opponents without much trouble, he will find the going difficult against the more fancied opponent in the quarterfinal, who himself has hit the ground running, winning his first match without showing any signs of rust. Expect Hurkacz to win in straight sets.
Tip: Hurkacz to win in straight set: 1/2 (bet365)
