Tennys Sandgren v John-Patrick Smith Head to Head

John-Patrick Smith won’t be playing at this year’s Australian Open after falling at the last hurdle. Having beaten Paolo Lorenzi and Tallon Griekspoor, the 32-year-old fell to the mercurial Bernard Tomic in the final round of qualifying.
Smith has had to do it the hard way as far as qualification to main draw of his home slam is concerned. He has now fallen in the qualifying draw eight times, and on one occasion he had to win the Australian Open wildcard play-off to earn his spot.
