Karolina Pliskova v Danielle Collins Head to Head
This will be the first ever competitive meeting between Pliskova and Collins.

While Pliskova was a heavy favourite in the opening round of this tournament, her recent form issues meant there was every chance of a surprise, and Elisabetta Cocciaretto looked like she had the form to trouble the Czech.
Instead, Pliskova gave a glimpse of why she has often been revered as one of the players who deserves a Grand Slam, crushing Cocciaretto 6-3, 6-2 to sail into the third round. This followed a first round bye for Pliskova.
In a match that lasted an hour and 17 minutes, Pliskova was never in any danger of losing. She might have rued an early chance to break Cocciaretto when she had seven break-points in the third game but back to back breaks of serves in the seventh and the ninth game meant there was no looking back from there.
Pliskova proved to be doubly clinical in the second set, getting better of the Cocciaretto serve in the sixth and the eighth game respectively to complete a facile victory.
The opposition quality goes up drastically now in the third round which should make things spicier than they were in round two.

Collins Continues Consistent Form
In Ysaline Bonaventure thought she had a chance to make it more troublesome for Danielle Collins in the first round of this tournament, Nina Stojanovic proved to be no match for her American opponent in the second round.
Needing just an hour and four minutes on court, Collins put it across Stojanovic in straight sets, winning 6-2, 6-1 to advance to the third round.
Collins, who had made it to the quarterfinal of the French Open in what was her last tournament of the previous season, got the better of Stojanovic’s serve for the first time in the fourth game of the encounter. She proceeded to break Stojanovic yet again two games later and while she lost her own serve early in the second set, went on to break her opponent three times in a row.
The big question now is if Collins can turn the screws over an opponent who has shown recent vulnerabilities despite her easy first round win.
Pliskova v Collins Prediction and Tip
While Pliskova is 1/2 to win this and we think she would be a favourite for sure, things could get interesting and we could see a fighting opening set.
