Filip Krajinovic vs Robin Haase Head to Head

The pair have met only once in the past – in the 2018 ATP Cincinnati Masters. Haase won that match 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.

Krajinovic, Looking to Move up in the Rankings

The 28-year-old Serbian is currently World No. 31 – a feat he achieved after a rather decent stint on the tour in 2020. Even though he ended the season a bad note, he did have his moments during the year.

Most notably, he reached the quarterfinal of the Cincinnati Masters, where he beat Dominic Thiem and Marton Fucsovics. Krajinovic enjoyed similar runs in Montpellier and Rotterdam, where he was a semifinalist.

Following his run in Cincinnati, he reached the third round back to back in the US Open and Italian Open. After that, he ended up losing the opening rounds consecutively in the French Open, ATP Cologne, ATP Vienna, and Paris Masters.

Interestingly enough, the Serb is yet to win his maiden singles title. The best he has managed is reach the final in four different tournaments, including the Paris Masters in 2017.

That said, Filip has beaten a few top 10 players during his time – a list that includes the likes of Stan Wawrinka and Dominic Thiem. Even though Krajinovic may not be a formidable force here in Melbourne, we can still peg him to reach the middle rounds.

Haase Gets Lucky

Starting as a qualifier in Melbourne, Robin Haase won the first two rounds before succumbing to Quentin Halys in the final qualifying match. However, by the virtue of the lucky loser, Haase finds himself playing in the main draw.

Shortly after that, Haase participated in the Adelaide International but lost in the second round to Pablo Cuevas.

The 33-year-old hasn’t won a singles title since 2012, with his last singles final coming back in the 2016 ATP Swiss Open Gstaad. Moreover, the Dutch spent his entire last season on the Challenger circuit with not a lot to show for. His sole highlight of the season was reaching the final of a challenger event in Bangkok.

As for Haase’s run in the Australian Open, he has never made it past the 3rd round here in Melbourne. In fact, a majority of the times, he has ended up losing in the opening game itself.

Krajinovic vs Haase Prediction and Tip

Expect this game to be won by Krajinovic. He has comparatively better momentum and form although, it may not prove to be an easy win.

Tip: Krajinovic to win in four sets: 11/4 (bet365)
