Andrey Rublev v Yannick Hanfmann Head to Head
This will be the first meeting between both players on the tour.

Rublev Storming Through ATP Cup, Like He Did in 2020
Andrey Rublev had a phenomenal 2020 winning five tournaments this year (more than anyone on the tour) on hard courts, clay and indoors, at Doha, Adelaide, Hamburg, St.Petersburg and Vienna. Rublev looked a favorite for the Paris Masters 1000 as well, but lost a hard fought battle to veteran Swiss Stan Wawrinka. His first appearance at the year end Tour Finals did not go as well as he hoped, where although he defeated Dominic Thiem he registered two losses and did not go beyond the group stages.
The Russian carried his form into this year, representing his country at the ATP Cup, and along with Daniil Medvedev, led Russia to the title. It was a fantastic run for Rublev at the tournament, where he started in convincing form defeating Guido Pella and Yoshihito Nishioka, dropping seven games in total in these matches, heading into the final four, knowing very well that the challenge only gets harder here on.
Rublev lost the first set in his semi-final clash against Jan Lennard-Struff of Germany, but came back to win strongly in the next two sets. The Russian was unstoppable in his final match against Fabio Fognini of Italy as Russia stormed to the trophy. With a good draw and high on confidence, Rublev definitely remains one of the dark horses over the next two weeks here in Melbourne.

Uphill Challenge For Hanfmann
German Yannick Hanfmann has been on the tour for a few years, but not managed to get any sort of consistency in the meantime. With his ranking hovering around the top 100 for a bit now, as he approaches the age of 30, he will hope to improve on his performance and results in 2021.
The German had two strong runs, one at the 2017 Swiss Open at Gstaad where he made the finals as a qualifier and then again late last season at the Kitzbuhel Open in Austria where he was runner-up to Miomi Kecmanovic in the final. With a game more suited to the clay courts, but a serve that has evolved over time in power, he will be hoping he can be a force in the near future on the hard courts as welll.
Hanfmann knows he has his task cut out against a player of the calibre of Rublev and will look to play with nothing to lose from the getgo.
Rublev v Hanfmann Prediction and Tip
Rublev has been on a tear since the second half of 2020, and continued that this week too, at the ATP Cup. Expect a trouble-free straight sets win for him here.
Tip: Rublev to win in straight sets: 1/4 bet365)
