Alexander Zverev v Maxime Cressy Head to Head
Zverev and Cressy have never played each other before this.

Troubling Opener for Zverev
It took the US Open runner-up two hours and 45 minutes to get past his first round opponent, Marcos Giron in a match that for the first two sets could have gone to either men.
Zverev looked headed to a routine opening set win with an early break of serve but as Giron established himself in the match, he broke the German, took the set into a tie-breaker and while he frittered away four set-points, he clinched it off his fifth.
The same pattern repeated in the second set when Zverev broke, Giron broke back and for the second time in running, the set went into a tie-breaker. This time, however, Zverev took early control and manoeuvre it under his control to level the match.
With the momentum back in his favour, the next two sets became a lot easier as Zverev turned out to be more relentless with his own serves, not allowing his opponent to break him back. What he would now love for is a more routine win though against a player ranked 172nd in the world.

Cressy Stuns Daniel
Having needed to qualify for the Australian Open with three wins in the qualifiers, Cressy had then proceeded to play at the tune-up tournament in Melbourne, which he lost PIerre Hugues-Herbert but not before he gave the Frenchman a fight.
And that confidence seems to have rubbed on well on him as Cressy stunned Japan’s Taro Daniel who was 8/11 to win the encounter. The 23-year-old Cressy needed two tie-breakers to start things off before wrapping up the match in two hours and 28 minutes to advance to the second round.
Cressy had made it to the second round at last year’s US Open as well, his first ever main draw win at a Grand Slam and now doubles that tally with this victory. Since playing that US Open, he was bundled out in the qualifiers at Roland-Garros, and followed that up with his participating in seven challenger competitions in which he generally struggled, not going past the quarterfinals.
Zverev v Cressy Prediction and Tip
Zverev is expectedly 1/12 to win this but given his troubles in the first round and given Cressy’s solid display against Daniel, we think this might not be a very straightforward encounter either.
Tip: Over 32.5 games in the match: 4/5 (bet365)
