Naomi Osaka v Ons Jabeur Head to Head
There have been no previous outings between Osaka and Jabeur before this.

Ruthless Osaka Crushes Garcia
Caroline Garcia is a former world number four and a player of decent quality even now that she is ranked 43rd in the world. Osaka made sure she was sent packing in the second round of the competition, winning 6-2, 6-3 in a matter of an hour and three minutes.
Osaka, who had earlier dropped just three games in her first round match against Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, hammered 10 aces and fired 23 winners while tying with Garcia on the unforced errors count at 14. The 2019 winner’s first serve percentage wasn’t the best at a mere 58, but she still won 86% of those points and 70% of the second serves.
Such was Osaka’s dominance on service despite not getting too many serves in, Garcia never got even break-point throughout the encounter. On the other hand, Osaka broke three times out of the seven opportunities she got and sealed her place in the round three.
She now faces an opponent whom she described as “really funny and nice” after the match but will the Osaka allow the niceness to trouble her too much? Doubtful.

Jabeur Inches Ahead in Straight Sets
Having showed what she is capable of last season, Jabeur has now begun to build more blocks to that. At the Abu Dhabi Open, Jabeur made it to the third round before falling to the eventual winner Aryna Sabalenka and has now brushed aside two of her opponents with reasonable ease.
Jabeur was stretched to a third set by Andrea Petkovic, sure, in the first round but she came back strongly in the second to send Anna Karolina Schmiedlova packing in straight sets.
Needing just an hour and nine minutes in her second round, Jabeur broke her opponent twice in the first set, and repeated exactly the same dose in the second to carve out a place in round three. Six aces and 19 winners to her 25 unforced errors punctuated her win and while she faced just two break-points, both of which were saved with ease.
Can she test out Osaka in what is their first ever meeting?
Osaka v Jabeur Prediction and Tip
While Jabeur is a rank outsider at 4/1 to win this one, expect her to give it a good fight and we might even see a third set or a rather long two-setter that goes in favour of Osaka.
Tip: Over 19.5 games in the match: 5/6 (bet365)
