Jennifer Brady vs Kaja Juvan Head to Head

This is the first meeting between the two players on the tour.

Brady Continues Good Form

World No. 24 Jennifer Brady had a breakthrough run last season that allowed her to crack the top 30. Most notable, she reached the quarterfinal at the Brisbane International where she defeated Maria Sharapova and Ashleigh Barty as a qualifier.

That was among her biggest wins of the career until that point. A few weeks later, she produced a similar run in the WTA Dubai where, once again as a qualifier, she reached the semifinal. On her way there, she defeated Elina Svitolina and Garbine Muguruza.

Fast forward to August, when she won her maiden singles title at the Top Seed Open and immediately followed it with a semifinal run at the US Open. While she fell to Naomi Osaka there, she did beat the likes of Angelique Kerber and Caroline Garcia. Brady ended the year on a similar note in the WTA Ostrava.

What’s impressive to see from the American is her consistency. Just last week in the Grampians Trophy, she once again reached the semifinal but fell to Ann Li.

Nonetheless, these brilliant runs have given the 25-year-old the confidence needed to excel in the Slam. So far in Melbourne, she has defeated Aliona Bolsova and Madison Brengle in straight sets to reach the third round.

Jennifer Brady is more than familiar with this Slam, at least in the doubles department. She has consistently reached the quarterfinals at the very least in the Melbourne Slam, over the last three seasons.

Juvan, with her Best Run in a Major

The 20-year-old Kaja Juvan may find herself in unchartered territory. After all, she has never made it this far in a Grand Slam, nor has she ever won a singles title.

Currently ranked World No. 104, Juvan spent most of the 2020 season on the WTA Tour although, they were in futile attempts to clear the early rounds. Her best runs can be the US Open and French Open where she reached the second round.

The trend continued for the Slovenian in 2021 too. She arrived in Melbourne for the Gippsland Trophy after an early-round exit in an ITF event in Dubai. Unfortunately, she fell to Iga Swiatek in three sets there.

However, she has done a splendid job of turning it all around in the Australian Open and admittedly, luck has played a part too. In the opening match here, she moved past Johanna Konta after the Brit retired from the match.

That opened up the path for her as she next met the Egyptian qualifier Mayar Sherif and beat her 3-6, 7-6(2), 6-3. While this is definitely a positive for the youngster, she still has ways to go.

Brady vs Juvan Prediction and Tip

Brady should be able to win this match comfortably. She is ahead when it comes to experience, momentum, and form.

Tip: Brady to win 2-0: 6/4 (bet365)
