Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova v Daria Kasatkina Head to Head
Kasatkina leads 2-1 head to head. They have never met outside of Moscow.
Pavlyuchenkova came from a set down to win their first duel, which was a semifinal in 2015. Kasatkina got her revenge with a straight sets win in 2017 (in the Round of 32) and then edged ahead with another straight sets win in 2018, this time in the quarterfinal. Kasatkina went on to win the Kremlin Cup that year.

Pavlyuchenkova Bounces Back To Advance
World No. 39 Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova rallied from a set down to beat Australia’a Ajla Tomljanovic in the Round of 32 of the Phillip Island Trophy.
A winner of 12 WTA titles, Pavlyuchenkova, who received a first-round bye, needed two hours to dispatch the Australian 5-7, 6-4, 6-2.
The 29-year-old Russian, who was overwhelmed by Naomi Osaka in the first round of the Australian Open last week, hasn’t had a great start to the new season.
Knocked out by Ons Jabeur in her season opener in Abu Dhabi, Pavlyuchenkova lost to Garbine Muguruza in the third round of the Yarra Valley Classic, having started the tournament with wins over Miaski Doi and Anastasija Sevastova in the first two rounds respectively.
Pavlyuchenkova, who played in two of her 20 finals in 2019, hasn’t won a title since winning her 12th in Strasbourg in 2018. Last year she finished with a 9-8 record, as she struggled to win two matches in a row. The only exception was the Australian Open, where she reached the quarterfinals by beating Karolina Pliskova and Angelique Kerber on the way.

Kasatkina Marches On
Former World No. 10 Daria Kasatkina moved into the third round with a straight sets win over compatriot Varvara Gracheva on Monday.
The 23-year-old saved seven break points and converted three of five to beat the World No. 97, 6-4, 6-3.
Currently ranked 75th in the world, Kasatkina had begun the tournament with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Britain’s Katie Boulter in the Round of 64.
Yet to be broken in the tournament, Kasatkina improved to 6-3 in 2021. She reached the Round of 16 in Abu Dhabi after beating China’s Wang Qiang and getting a walkover against Karolina Muchova, before being beaten by Elena Rybakina.
She also won two rounds at the Gippsland Trophy to reach the Round of 16; and then beat Katie Boulter in the first round of the Australian Open before falling to Aryna Sabalenka in the next round.
A two-time winner on the tour and three-time finalist, Kasatkina was 9-11 last year and will be aiming for a 2018-like season, when she won her first Kremlin Cup title, reached the final at Indian Wells and Dubai and played in the semifinals in St. Petersburg. She also featured in five other quarterfinals in what turned out to be a breakthrough year for her.
Pavlyuchenkova v Kasatkina Prediction and Tip
While Pavlyuchenkova is the seeded player, Kasatkina seems to be in better rhythm and it won’t be a surprise if she causes an upset on Tuesday.
Tip: Kasatkina to win: 4/6 (bet365)
