Andy Murray v Robin Haase Head to Head
They haven’t met over the last six years but have played against each other five times previously when they both were at their peak.
Murray leads the matchup 4-1, having lost their first meeting in Rotterdam in 2008.
Since that straight sets defeat, Murray beat Hasse at the 2011 U.S. Open in a five-set contest; 2013 Australian Open in straight sets; 2014 U.S. Open in four; and 2015 Wimbledon in three.

Murray Looking To Return To Winning Ways
Three-time major champion Andy Murray will be looking to get back to winning ways after he lost his opening match of the 2021 season this week at Montpellier and extended his losing streak on the Tour to four losses in a row.
The former World No. 1, who missed the Australian Open after he tested positive for coronavirus days before he was due to fly for the first major, lost to Belarus’ Egor Gerasimov 6-7 (8-10), 1-6 in the first round in Montpellier.
Currently ranked 121st in the world, the 33-year-old last won in the first round of the U.S. Open last year, when he came back from two sets down to beat Japan’s Yoshihito Nishioka in a five-set thriller. He lost to Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime in the next round and made first round exits at Roland Garros and Cologne to end 2020 with a 3-4 record.
A winner of 46 career titles and an 11-time Grand Slam finalist, Murray played at a Challenger in Italy in February and reached the final before falling to Ukraine’s Illya Marchenko.
Hampered by injuries and surgeries, Murray has had to make multiple comebacks over his career but has struggled for form over the last four years. The 33-year-old will look to get some form going in Rotterdam, where he won the title in 2009 after beating Rafael Nadal in the final.

Haase Has His Struggles
Facing Murray in the first round will be local hope Robin Haase, who is 1-2 in 2021.
The 33-year-old Dutchman, who reached a career-high ranking of 33 in 2012, began the year with two wins and a loss at the Australian Open qualifiers.
At the Adelaide International, Hasse had a relatively easy win over Belgian Kimmer Coppejans before falling to Uruguay’s Pablo Cuevas in the next round.
Playing as a lucky loser at the Australian Open, Hasse went down to Serbia’s Filip Krajinovic in the first round.
Currently ranked 189th in the world, the big-serving right-hander has won two titles and finished runner-up thrice on the tour. He was knocked out by David Goffin in the first round at Rotterdam last year.
Murray v Haase Prediction and Tip
In his prime, Murray would have started a heavy favourite, but things have changed over the last few years, and the two-time Olympic gold medallist is struggling to recapture the form that made him a part of the big four.
He will be desperate to snap the losing streak and get back to winning ways and will fancy his chances against the lower ranked Haase.
Tip: Andy Murray to win: 2/5 (bet365)
