Stefanos Tsitsipas v Pierre-Hugues Herbert Head to Head
This will be the second time that Tsitsipas and Herbert face off in a competitive time. In their first match held in the 2018 Shenzhen Open, Herbert had registered a fighting 6-3, 7-6 (4) victory.

Tsitsipas Too Good for Pouille
After getting a bye in the first round, Tsitsipas needed just an hour and five minutes to go past Frenchman Lucas Pouille in their second round encounter. Tsitsipas won 6-2, 6-3, breaking his opponent thrice in the first set and once in the second to complete the rout.
The Greek number one was off to a flier with an immediate break of serve off the first break-point he got, taking a 3-0 lead in the opening set. Very soon he broke again to serve for the set at 5-1 but conceded two break-points, of which Pouille converted the second.
Not to be outdone, Tsitsipas broke again to grab the set, and while the second set saw his opponent prove to be a tough nut to crack, a long sixth game ended that resistance. Tsitsipas broke and then held on twice to clinch the match easily.
Tsitsipas had earlier made it as far as the semifinal of the Rotterdam Open following on from the same stage at the Australian Open as well. Russians Andrey Rublev and Daniil Medvedev had ended his hopes of a title at those two competitions.
Can he go further in this one?

Herbert Finally Wins Back to Back
Herbert’s form has been so underwhelming he has fallen to 93rd in the world, having also entered this tournament with a 1-3 win-loss record in main draw of matches. That he had failed to qualify for the Rotterdam Open last week was also bit of a surprise.
But back home now, the 29-year-old Herbert has finally gotten going. In what has been his first tournament since the Montpellier Open of 2020, Herbert has finally managed to win back to back matches as well.
In the first round here, he stunned Japan’s Kei Nishikori, who might not have been playing at his best, but had still started out a 1/3 favourite to win the encounter. Instead Herbert won 6-1, 6-4.
And while Cameron Norrie, hiss second round opponent wasn’t a favourite, Herbert showed no signs of his latest issues as he carved out a 6-3, 6-4 win in the process. Things could get slightly trickier against Tsitsipas though.
Tsitsipas v Herbert Prediction and Tip
The odds tell a story. Tsitsipas is 1/7 to win this and 4/9 to do that in straight sets. We believe Tsitsipas will make short work of his opponent here.
Tip: Tsitsipas to win AND Under 20.5 games in the match: 11/10 (bet365)
